The Elusive Facebook Like Button

stress

I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve struggled over a span of about five days since creating my blog pages.  I watched countless videos.  My suggestion is don’t show how to add a Facebook Like Button on your website without vocal instructions.  Playing music while you wiggle the mouse all over the screen doesn’t further the cause either.  Bad sound can be just as distracting.  I asked to myself, “what did you say?” more than once.

I saw videos pertaining to WordPress.org, which I don’t have because I don’t want to write my own HTML nor do I want to take the time to do it if I knew how to do it. Everything on the screen looked nothing like what I had on my page because the video was five years old.  I used the phrase, “How do dummies add a Facebook like box button to a blog?” more than I can count.  I heard don’t do this, but do that.  I heard do that, but not this.

I read countless instructions, making me believe I could do this.  I read the phrases, “it’s so easy” or “that’s all there is to it.”  Not in my case because every time the person said, “Now you’ll see the Like Button,” I did not.  By the end of three hours, I knew I wasted all that time for nothing.  Fast forward another week and miraculously somewhere, somehow, and someway I was able to add the Facebook Like Button onto my homepage.  Then it disappeared when I made a change, which I realized this after the fact and it was gone.  I followed the same directions to add it back on.  Did I appear on my page again?  No, no, it did not.

I watched more videos again tonight after taking a long break from it.  I wanted to see if could get this stupid Facebook Like Button on my pages and blog entries.  I told myself I’d give it a few tries and if that didn’t work, I’d go to bed once again without the Like Button anywhere on my pages.

Well, guess what?  I finally got the Facebook Like Button on my pages and blogs so please go back if you liked a particular blog entry and/or certain blog pages. I also want to thank everyone on Facebook, WordPress, and elsewhere for liking my blog entries and following me.  I started this as a way to express my personality and creativity.  It’s been fun working on it (minus the FB Like Button) and trying to come up with different ideas.  Just in case you were wondering, I wasn’t the only one who had trouble with this pesky button.  It was suggested to put a FB Page Box up so I created one just so I could have something, but now that I have both I can hit the hay on a high note.
