My plan to hike somewhere else besides the little trail without much terrain was supposed to happen before it snowed in Las Vegas, NV. It didn’t help MapQuest gave terrible directions and even more that I’m still not familiar with certain areas. Did I mention I have little sense of direction? The First Creek Trail is interesting as it is before Red Rock and is an easy trail if you stay on the trail. While I didn’t get to the actual waterfall, I plan on getting there when it gets warmer and don’t have to deal with slippery rocks and snow. It wouldn’t have been so bad, but I wandered too far into the snowy parts and getting back was more difficult than anticipated. I should also invest in some ski poles if I really wanted to keep my balance. Luckily, no was on around when I lost my footing and fell onto my butt and back off a rock. It happened quickly that I didn’t have time to say “ouch,” but definitely feel it now. At least, I didn’t bruise my tailbone because the fall wasn’t very far down. I was hoping to see a little more than the fly in the beginning, but ended up seeing a few rabbits and birds. No burros as I’m sure they are more near Red Rock and if those are deer droppings I saw, they sure keep themselves hidden. Anyway, enjoy the pictures and will post a few videos on my FB page due having both an antiquated iMac and iPhone. Yes, this was the order I took the pictures with the sign at the very end.
