If you need to remove a leech from your body, remove it from your skin by pushing it sideways. This will cause it to lose its suction and throw it back into the water.
If you are in a confrontation, the best thing to do is ignore heated responses and don’t ask questions. Start talking to the person when s/he is less defensive and not on guard.
If you have fractured your leg, place two splints above and below the injury and lie flat on your back to circulate the blood better.
If you need to jump from a moving train, jump from the rear car as it slows down around a turn. Bend your knees low to the ground and jump as far as you can. When you land on the ground, protect your head with your arms and roll like a log if possible.

If you are in a hostage situation, keep your head down and stay on the floor. Don’t make sudden movements, hide your wallet, or give out unsolicited information.
If you need to escape a boa constrictor, don’t struggle or play dead. Try to grab the snake’s head and uncoil its body around you by holding the tail. Try to stun the snake by hitting it in the middle of its head or have someone throw hot water on it.
