Poem: Gathering Old Dust

Gathering up the darkness in your arms.

The empty corner waits patiently.

He heard you speak and the echoes that followed.

If you want to teach him that, go ahead.

I will not wait anymore.

You have shown your colors.

They are dirty and gross after all.

The blindfolded herd surrounds me.

They aren’t protecting anyone.

The color of white can be negative.

Don’t kid yourself, please.

You are comfortable with your decision.

The large smile on your face says so.

You masquerade as someone else.

I know what you are inside.

You might be fooling some.

More people will realize your story.

The long history of lies you created.

They will know of your childishness.

When the selfish people die, it will matter.

You were the adult back then.

I have no more respect for you.

I am glad you are gone.
