I haven’t watched holidays movies for a while because I haven’t been in the mood. I’ve been too busy with other things in my life. Besides, I’ve seen most of the best ones ever made already. You’re bound to get a lot of duds and maybe two decent enough to pay attention 100%. If you find a holiday movie that absolutely blows your mind on how great it is, let me know when you find it. On that fine note, here are the cheesy and awful movies I watched this year.

Family Switch (2023) is the typical parents switch bodies with their children and the toddler switches bodies with the dog. I’m not sure how the last one works, but I guess it doesn’t have to make sense. There are some funny moments and while the switch is blamed on the universe shifting and this mysterious woman appearing in a van, it isn’t the worst switch movie I’ve seen.
A Hollywood Christmas (2022) is the typical two professionals disagreeing about something important but for different reasons. I partly watched this because I know one of the cast members in this movie. The age- old conflicts between of a movie executive and its director, man and woman, contracts and how they can be broken. Enough said.

Christmas Cupid (2010) is one of the worst redeem yourself movies after a tragedy. A young social influencer dies because she chokes while she’s drinking at a party. She then harasses her PR executive while as a ghost. It’s a sloppy mix of current and past love interests. I’d say skip this one. I ended up watching about half of it and listening to the rest while doing other things.
Violent Night (2022) is one of the better movies I watched. It’s a little violent and bloody but there’s enough mystery and humor when a misfit group of mercenaries attack a wealthy family that doesn’t get along to make it not so serious. Of course, Santa Claus needs to make a grand entrance to rescue the not so innocent family.

Candy Cane Lane (2023) is your typical father loses his job and thinks winning the Christmas decorating contest money will solve all his problems. He’s partially right but what he doesn’t realize is an all-important deadline. There are some cringy over the top scenes, but others are good enough to even it out. Besides, you can’t beat Eddie Murphy.
Happiest Season (2020) is about acceptance during the holidays. It lacks substance in that it glossed over the more emotional scenes. It was decent enough although the ending came together a little too quickly and easily for my taste. I’d say watch it if you’re an open-minded person.

A Christmas Story Christmas (2022) is about how Ralph has a family of his own and returns to the house he grew up in while dealing with the death of his father. The movie’s jokes weren’t that funny, but it was nice to see the young actors in the original as adults. I thought Ralphie’s mother was a little too fragile for my taste. I get reminiscing about a small U.S.A. town even if it’s only fictional. Watch it for the nostalgia, I guess.
Your Christmas or Mine? (2022) is about two young adults in love. They decide to spend Christmas with their own families. The only issue is when they change their minds and end up in unfamiliar houses and traditions. They find out neither one has been completely honest with each other and wonder how compatible they really are with each other. it was an okay movie and will probably watch the sequel.
