I’ve watched more movies than I should’ve so far this year. I could’ve spent my free time better by reading and better yet by writing. I guess there’s time for that later although pretty soon I’m going to run of time when the end of 2024 arrives. The titles sort of speak for themselves. I’ve been on a superhero movie kick lately although I’ve noticed when they leave one streaming service, they end up on another one (so I can still watch them). I ended up writing one reason why I liked the movie or one reason why I thought it could better as a compromise. Watch at your own discretion, for I am not to blame for experience gained or time lost.

Batman (2022) I liked it because it gave Rob Pattinson a chance to broaden his acting chops and have a “serious” role besides a glistening vampire. His version of Batman was well done.
Call Me by Your Name (2017) I liked it because the acting was superb when it came to a delicate subject during a time of human exploration between two radically different people.
Green Lantern (2011) This wasn’t a terrible movie but could’ve been so much better as it relied too heavily on humor that wasn’t very funny, and the ending is blah.

White Snake (2019) I didn’t mind the animation because I thought the visuals were stunning even though to the more discerning eye, the animation is rather simplistic in style. The story was good overall due to the mythical aspects.
Easy Virtue (2008) I laughed more than I thought I would because who doesn’t like to watch stuffy British people put their noses up to a loud talking American woman. Kristin Scott Thomas is hilarious when she’s trying not to be, and Jessica Biel holds her weight throughout the movie.
Jungle (2017) Any movie based on a true story is going to be pretty good (for the most part). Daniel Radcliffe does a great job demonstrating the despair of being alone in the Amazon.

Open Season 2 (2008) The humor is made for children, so I didn’t laugh much through the movie. The jokes fell flat for me. This second attempt wasn’t as good as the original.
Freelance (2023) Rather simplistic and common plot where a retired Army or Marine helps a journalist in a dangerous country. This is a take or leave it movie. Not the greatest, not the worst.
The Retirement Plan (2023) I like watching Nicolas Cage in this movie. You don’t watch him for his subtly or to transport you (forget you are watching Nicolas Cage) to a different place. He makes it work for the movies he’s been in, and this is one of them.
