Look up high and see the clouds in the vast sky.
Lean your head back to catch as many rays.
You will be better off with a little bit of color than none.
Your race will thank you for it later.
You try to forget those reminders from long ago.
How slippery they are in the mind and how tired you feel.
They convince you how terrible you’ve been.
They load the brain with intoxicating smells and sounds.
The signs above probably weren’t to be seen.
The brightness should have made your eyes smaller.
Your eyes became wider, leathery, and tearful.
You expected some kind of arrow making your head a target.
This isn’t the way it will be and there are delusions.
Birds are shifting into other animals above.
This might be a signal to the end.
You can only wait with a sigh.
