TV Review: Blacklist Season 7 So Far

Quote from The Blacklist by Raymond Reddington:

“I finally had a chance to see her, Sam.  There’s a fire inside she got from you.  She’s volatile, unpredictable, soft, and hard, and… soft again.  Stronger than she knows.”

Completed Seasons: 6

Episodes in each Season: 22

Running Time of Each Episode: 43 minutes

A lot has happened since Blacklist first aired.  Major characters have died including Tom Keen/Christopher Hargrave (Ryan Eggold), Kathryn Nemec/Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert), and Meera Malik (Parminder Nagra) while recurring characters have also perished including Alan Fitch (Alan Alda), Naomi Hyland (Mary-Louise Parker), Laurel Hitchin (Christine Lahti), and Ian Garvey (Jonny Coyne).  In season six,  Samar Navabi (Mozhan Marno) almost died and left to keep Aram Mojtabai (Amir Arison) safe.  With season seven now three episodes deep, I can’t wait to see what materalizes.  I haven’t been this excited about this show since season four when there were flashbacks of a young Katarina Rostova (Lotte Verbeek) and her relationship with Mr. Kaplan.  Will Aram find love again?  It looks like he might be headed into another complicated relationship.  Will Ressler finally put his killing of Laurel Hitchin (Christine Lahti) behind him?  We found out the identity of the bones and why they were put there, but now the question is what did Reddington do so bad for Katarina to want to drain all his blood after the fact?  They still have attraction to each other, even if it is drenched in dysfunction and competition, so get ready for more cat on cat games.  I wish Jennifer Reddington would come back for a single blow to Red’s ego, but I understand her wanting to remain alive.  This season’s focus most likely will be between Katarina Rostova and Raymond Reddington and Katarina Rostova and Elizabeth Keen.  It’s already hinting at some kind of revelation between mother and daughter.  The intentions for Katarina aren’t clear yet for Liz.  She’s resourceful, devious, and someone who doesn’t let go of grudges.  One thing is clear that Red will keep revealing people on the Blacklist and using people for his benefit as in Nurse Mila who initially was instructed by Katarina to kill him.  The 19 episodes left should be spectacular.

I rate Blacklist Four Fingers and One Thumb.

It is PERFECT at 100%.
