TV Recommendation: First Ladies (2020-)

The first episode I watched was of Michelle Obama and from there it got more interesting. The longer the First Lady served, the less I knew about these women. The only downfall was having to fast forward through the commercials. I’ve now watched all of them and they are informative in how the First Ladies assisted their husbands as President of the United States and paved their own ways in the White House and West Wing. Some were more traditional as in their roles as recent examples of Laura Bush and Melania Trump (both not covered yet in this series but should be). Others were trailblazers such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Hillary Rodham Clinton. And there were others who were powerful, but operated more behind the scenes like Lady Bird Johnson and Nancy Reagan. Each one of these First Ladies contributed in their own right. There are six episodes so far. I can’t wait for more in 2021.
