Poem: Paper Plate

04/23/2022

Poetry

Bits of cheese stuck to the surface. That was my heart. I know. Eating my sorrows away slice by slice. Wanting more. Not getting anything. So easy to throw it away in the plastic bag. Out of sight. Not on your mind. Gnats and flies competing for the leftovers. They annoy you. Swat them away.…

Movie Recommendation: Rescued by Ruby (2022)

04/23/2022

Netflix Recommendations

In the midst of all the heavy TV and movies I tend to watch, I decided to give Rescued by Ruby a try on Netflix. It’s definitely a family movie. There are no car chases, lasers aimed at heads, people holding swords and arrow, or explosions of any kind. Rescued by Ruby is about a…

Journal Entry Type #129: The Day After Earth Day

04/23/2022

Writing

I normally do something to celebrate Earth Day although I pretty much do it throughout the 365 days of each year. I recycle my paper, plastic, tin cans, aluminum, and more. If you’ve ever been to a recycling center in LA, it’s quite the production. They only take certain containers and definitely not tin cans.…

Documentary Recommendations

For anyone who thinks Tony Hawk had an easy life, he did not in many ways. Although raised by parents who supported his skateboarding throughout his life, there were things absent that would have made him a more responsible adult. He definitely had his ups and downs during his career as a skater. Until the…

Journal Entry Type #128: Nothing to Say Here So Move On

04/10/2022

Life, Writing

I’m beginning to fall in a pattern of only blogging once a week which happens to be on my days off of work. I suppose this is what happens when I’m the only one contributing to this blog and no longer working from home. I’ve been mentally in this state of wishing the dam would…

Journal Entry Type #127: Music and Gelato Does Help Life Be More Tolerable

04/03/2022

Writing

I’ve been on a huge music kick. I’ve been listening to classical to jazz music and forgetting about all the rest of current music that sounds the same. When I listen to music in my car, I change it to jazz or classical. I’m at a juncture in my life where writing should be taking…
